We are aware that some patients and a staff member has tested positive for coronavirus at Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Royal Melbourne Hospital, together with the Western Public Health Unit are working collaboratively to review this situation and close contacts are currently being reviewed and identified.
All staff (clinical and non-clinical) who have attended the Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus since the 12th of August should:
- Access asymptomatic testing for COVID. This can be done at the Sunshine Hospital Respiratory Assessment Clinic. This clinic is open from 9.00am to 7pm daily.
- Email the staff enquiry line help desk on whscovid-19staffclinicenquiries@wh.org.au providing your name, phone number, dates you attended Royal Melbourne Hospital and areas you visited.
- You can continue to work wearing a N95 mask and eye protection.
Staff who attended the 6th Floor of the Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus since the 12th of August should:
- Test for COVID. This can be done at the Sunshine Hospital Respiratory Assessment Clinic. This clinic is open from 9.00am to 7pm daily.
- Isolate until you receive your test results and speak to a member of the Western Health Staff Enquiries line or Infection Prevention Team.
- Email the staff enquiry line help desk on whscovid-19staffclinicenquiries@wh.org.au providing your name, phone number, dates you attended Royal Melbourne Hospital and areas you have attended.
- You cannot continue to work until you have received confirmation from a member of staff from the Western Health Infection Prevention Team or the Western Health Staff Enquiries line.
We are aware that wearing PPE and being aware of physical distancing guidelines can be challenging for all of us, however a reminder that all clinical areas of Western Health we are requesting staff wear a P2/N95 mask and eye protection– preferably a face shield.
A reminder, for any staff with any COVID symptoms, no matter how mild, please:
- Do not attend work
- Immediately isolate
- Contact the COVID staff enquiries and give them your details
- Attend Sunshine Hospital COVID Testing Clinic is open from 09:00 to 17:30 each day.
