VACCINATION HUB BULLETIN – FRIDAY 4 JUNE

June 4, 2021

Hello and welcome to your latest Covid Vaccination Hub Bulletin.

Over the past week we have achieved record breaking numbers of people turning up to get the #jabdone. This demand has also come from vaccinations now being available to community members 40 years or over.  With well over 137,000 people being vaccinated since we commenced the program, we are well and truly on a vaccination roll now!

This has been an incredible effort by the teams working at our Hubs, who now are working in a more demanding environment due to the current COVID outbreak and subsequent PPE requirements.

With many staff now reaching the time for a second vaccine dose, we have commenced twice daily staff only vaccination sessions at our Sunshine Hospital Vaccination Hub. These sessions are walk-in only. Click here to read more.

Our Sunshine Hospital and Melbourne Showgrounds Vaccination Sites are also supporting a Victorian Government led five-day COVID-19 vaccination blitz from 2 June to 6 June.  In order to minimise wait times as much as possible,  we have moved the line to the ‘bookings’ queue.  We will continue to monitor this arrangement closely, particularly during the peak times of 1400-1600 hours.

The priority walk-in service will operate from 0730-1600 daily.

A reminder is the priority groups are as follows only:

  • WH staff
  • Aged Care Workers
  • Disability Workers
  • Those in uniform; Police/Fire/Ambulance
  • Nursing and Medical students @ WH

The number of people accessing our community facing vaccination information site in the last seven days has reached 20,000!  While we currently aren’t having too much trouble attracting numbers to our Vaccination Sites, we are hoping the information on this site supports awareness about the vaccination process and how to easily find and access our vaccination hubs.

The site can be found at: https://covid-19vaccination.wh.org.au/

We urge you to share this link with colleagues, friends and families.

A reminder that the only current way you can make a new vaccination booking at our sites is to phone 1800 675 398, select option 1 and 1.

Thanks to all of you as we move closer towards our goal of getting the #jabdone.

Regards,

Shane Crowe
Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery
