Vaccination Hub Bulletin – 12 July

July 12, 2022

Dear colleagues,

Following last week’s announcement about expanded eligibility for a fourth COVID-19 vaccine for adults aged 30 and over, I’m pleased to inform you that the West Metro Vaccination Program team will be running staff vaccination clinics across all Western Health sites.

Staff COVID-19 vaccination clinics this week

The clinics will be held over the next fortnight, beginning today at Sunshine.

All staff aged 30 and over are encouraged to get a fourth dose as soon as possible. The interval recommended between a third dose (or a recent COVID-19 infection) and a fourth dose is now three months.

The walk-in clinics will be held at the following locations this week, between 10am-3pm. You do not need to make a booking.

  • TODAY, Tuesday 12 July – Sunshine Hospital, Ground floor WHCRE building
  • Wednesday 13 July – Footscray Hospital, Mavis Mitchell room
  • Friday 15 July – Williamstown Hospital, The Hub

Vaccination clinics at Bacchus Marsh, Melton and Sunbury hospitals will be delivered next week, with details to be announced later this week.

Influenza vaccinations will also be available at Sunshine and Footscray clinics. COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations can be administered at the same time.

Victoria’s Chief Health Officer updated the fourth COVID-19 vaccination recommendations last week, following advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI)

While a fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is not mandated for healthcare workers at this stage, we highly recommend it for staff who are eligible. Vaccination is one of our most powerful tools for keeping our patients, our families, our communities – and ourselves – safe during the ongoing pandemic.

Regards,
