“Like I’d never left ICU.”

Wonderful feedback has been circulating about the retraining and reskilling programs for nurses and ward staff to work in our intensive care, critical care and acute environments.

Barbara Lennon, EMR Learning & Development Manager, was quick to provide positive feedback for the ICU refresher she completed at Footscray.

“Sophie [Greig] did a great job and I felt like I’d never left ICU!  Thanks to her I would feel completely comfortable taking a ventilated patient again,” Barbara said.

Upskilling our workforce is a vital part of our COVID-19 surge planning says Executive Director Operations, Natasha Toohey.

“I’m so proud that Western Health has worked proactively to provide this training, and that we’ve had so many nurses volunteering to take this step,” she said.

Well done to Clinical Nurse Educator, Sophie Greig and the Education team as well as all the staff who have undertaken this training.
