The Sunshine Hospital COVID-19 Vaccination Hub will be opening on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 March to facilitate vaccination of COVID Quarantine Victoria (CQV) staff.
From Tuesday 9 March the first 800 Western Health staff included in the Priority 1A cohort as defined by the Commonwealth will commence their vaccinations.
Invitations for the first 800 staff will be sent out via email from today. It is critical that you look out for your invitation and respond promptly. The invitations will be emailed to you – for the vast majority of staff this will be via your Western Health email account. Please note that staff are not to book their vaccination appointments at the Airport Sub-Hub.
All employees that have been identified as being eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine as part of Phase 1a will all receive their invitation to book in for vaccination over the coming weeks.
All staff at Western Health, whether eligible for vaccination as part of Phases 1a or 1b, can expect to receive their invitation to receive the COVID-19 vaccination over the coming months.
I would encourage every staff member receiving a vaccination invitation to take up that offer. This is an incredible opportunity to help protect yourself, your family, your patients, your work colleagues and your community.
As of today, more than 218 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered around the world. We are fortunate to have the advantage of being able to clearly see that these vaccines are safe and well tolerated.

All is now in place for the opening of our sub-hub at the Parkville precinct on Monday 1 March, with the RMH located hub set up to support staff of our partners: RMH, RCH, the Women’s and Peter Mac.
