Covid Vaccination Hub Bulletin – Tuesday June 1

June 1, 2021

Hello and welcome to your latest Covid Vaccination Hub Bulletin.

Tomorrow (Wednesday June 2)  we will will commence twice daily staff only vaccination sessions at our Sunshine Hospital Vaccination Hub.

The morning session will operate between 0730-0830 hours and the afternoon session will be open between 1400-1600 hours.

These sessions will be available for walk-in appointments only with the intent of offering relatively quick access for staff who are attending the Hub for either their first or second dose.  If you or your colleagues prefer to access a booked appointment– you can still do so by calling the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398.

To access these twice daily clinics, staff will need to enter via the stairs on the ground floor of the multi-deck car park located at the back of the Hub.  See the map below and look out for the signage to guide you.

Also commencing tomorrow is a ‘vaccination blitz to keep vulnerable settings safe’.  The Victorian Government is taking immediate action to keep people who live in residential disability settings, private aged care residents and staff safe with a vaccination blitz to ensure workers in these vulnerable settings are protected against coronavirus.  From Wednesday 2 June to Sunday 6 June, workers in private aged care facilities and the residential disability sector, which are managed by the Commonwealth, will be given priority access at walk-in vaccination hubs around Victoria between 9am and 4pm when they present evidence of their employment.  While the Commonwealth will continue to be responsible for in-reach in disability residential settings, Victoria will also work with providers to support access to state-run vaccination sites to increase the current low level of vaccinations.  Western Health will offer this at all Hubs.  You can read more here.

Our record attendance numbers over the past few days have not gone unnoticed and it has been wonderful to see so much positive feedback on social media about the caring, friendly and seamless service people are experiencing across all our Hubs.

This busy time has left our staff a little peckish! To help them keep their energy levels high we were thrilled to share some ‘Not just essential. Exceptional cookies with them today.

A small token to say a big thanks from all of us!

We also enjoyed dropping some cookies off to our Western Health Public Health Unit and our Covid Testing Clinic staff who as you all know, have been working around the clock in response to the recent outbreak.
