COVID Operations Bulletin – 10 Feb 2021

February 10, 2021

As you may well be aware from recent media coverage, we have an emerging situation regarding COVID risk in our community.

Effective immediately we are requiring staff to declare if they have worked or volunteered in hotel quarantine in the last 14 days. This will be added to the daily attestation, but any staff member who has worked at hotel quarantine in last 14 days should immediately email COVID Staff Enquiries. This approach is in keeping with DHHS requirements.

There have been several COVID positive cases identified through the Airport Hotel quarantine resulting in many close contacts being identified and two schools in Sunbury have been closed today.

Our Western Public Health Unit organised urgent overnight testing of five close contacts and through their work were able to inform timely decision making about any further school or other closures. Thanks Finn, Kate, Marion and the broader team!

The DHHS list of exposure sites that have resulted are extensive and include many sites in Sunbury (dating from 27 January), including the Sunbury Shopping Centre. As more information comes to hand, those site listings are updated so do check in frequently but at least twice a day. You must almost complete the daily attestation.

We know that many of our staff live in the areas related to these latest cases.

Correct mask wearing and use of any other required PPE is absolutely essential along with testing and isolation if you have even the most minor of symptoms.

A reminder too that cross campus travel should only occur when essential and this is more important now given the current emerging situation.

We are taking a number of steps to address any potential flow on impact with both inpatients and outpatients.

The Sunbury testing site has been opened for extended hours.

The following content is from DHHS but further updates are occurring regularly.
