Vaccines used in Australia

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has approved two vaccines for use in Australia:

  • Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine
  • Oxford / Astrazeneca vaccine

 

16 March 2021 - Report on COVID-19 vaccines (Melbourne Children's Campus in affiliation with the WHO)

Professor Fiona Russell, Professor Kim Mulholland, Dr John Hart, Associate Professor Nigel Crawford, Professor Julie Bines and Associate Professor Margie Danchin released their inaugural report on COVID-19 vaccines, produced on behalf of the Melbourne Children’s Campus in affiliation with the World Health Organisation.

This document summarises the vaccine efficacy and effectiveness, the vaccine specifications, the vaccine development pipeline and the timeline for WHO review of the various COVID-19 vaccines in late phase development.
