Staff and volunteers of Western Health were invited to a webinar held today about the COVID-19 vaccination hubs – this time with a focus on the Sunshine Hospital Hub which opens this week on Thursday 4 March.
COVID Vaccination invitations to high priority Western Health staff have been issued in the last few days and it is important to provide sufficient information and encourage all those eligible to take up the vaccination offer.

2021-02-09 Webinar on COVID-19 Vaccination Hub managed by Western Health
To provide information on the plans for vaccine rollout and commence a transparent communication process about the COVID-19 Vaccination Hub to be managed by Western Health (WH), a Webinar was recorded on 9 February 2021.
This Webinar presents information about the Vaccination Hub and provides answers to frequently asked questions about the COVID vaccines, how they work, their safety and efficacy, Commonwealth designated eligibility and how the vaccines will be distributed and administered.
The Webinar features presentations by:

- WH Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Shane Crowe
- Head of WH’s Infectious Diseases Unit, Dr Marion Kainer
- Infectious diseases and WH immunisation physician, A/Prof Michelle Giles
Dr Marion Kainer has provided expert advice over throughout the past year and presents on how the roll-out of the vaccine fits within the overall strategy to combat COVID-19.
A/Prof Michelle Gibbs works across a number of health services including WH and is a member of the expert group advising the Commonwealth on the COVID vaccination program.
