An innovative welcome

Quality and Innovation

The Improvement and Innovation Team hasn’t let the developing COVID-19 situation diminish their warm welcome for new starter, Emily Middag, who commenced at Western Health on March 23rd.

Eileen Hansen, Manager, Improvement, Innovation & Patient Experience, said that while it’s an unusual time to begin a new role in a new organisation, Emily has hit the ground running supporting the Emergency Departments in scoping and developing new Models of Care.

“To maintain some semblance of normalcy, while maintain physical distancing guidelines, our team was eager to organise Welcome Drinks to celebrate the new addition,” Eileen said.

” Zoom came to the rescue, and we enjoyed a social Friday evening together, but apart, in the comfort of our homes. It would not have been complete without a few standard ice breaker questions – namely “What is your hidden talent for a talent show?” to which the answers were both interesting and unusual:  dancing, basketball post moves, and showcasing an ugly workout. We’ll leave you to match the talent to the team member!”

Eileen says the team looks forward to the time when restaurants reopen, and we can properly celebrate not only Emily, but also many of the new faces that have recently joined the Quality Division.
